Pādāṅguṣṭhāsana and Pādahastāsana are the first two poses in the standing sequence of Aṣṭāṅga yoga. They strengthen and tone the lower abdomen, purifying the kidneys and the nerve plexus in the anal region. Flexibility in the hamstrings and hips will be improved.
